Abstract Recent years introduced process and material innovations in the design manufacturing of lightweight body parts for larger scale manufacturing. However, materials new technologies often carry a higher environmental burden earlier life cycle stages. The prospective evaluation remains to this day challenging task. Yet, functioning approach early stages is prerequisite integrating assessment results engineering processes thus allowing oriented decision making. current paper aims contribute goal fiber-reinforced by improving models that enable predict energy flows stage. To end, modeling simulation has been developed integrates bottom-up into chain model. exemplarily applied on case study door concept. In particular, intensity compression molding glass fiber carbon sheet compounds analyzed compared over with steel reference part.
